Sno-Balls
A New Orleans "sno-ball" is a frozen dessert made with ultra-fine shaved ice and flavored syrups. It's similar to a snow cone, but the ice is much softer and fluffier — almost like fresh snow — so it absorbs the syrup instead of letting it sink to the bottom.
The biggest difference from a regular snow cone:
